Parental Involvement

Alongside the children and staff at Hillside Pre-School, parents are a valuable and key part of our community. We welcome and appreciate their support and involvement in the pre-school’s life.

There are many opportunities for parents to be involved in this early stage of their child’s career in education, both in and out of the classroom.

As a charity-based pre-school, we are required to have a parents’ committee in place. This is necessary for us to fulfill the objectives of our constitution. The role of the committee is a management one and is key to the success of the school. Opportunities to become involved with the committee arise regularly and provide a real opportunity to support the pre-school and steer its’ future.

The committee is also involved in fundraising for the pre-school and parental support is greatly appreciated in this area. Regular events include stalls at the Chorleywood Village Day and the Christmas Evening.

Parents are also able to support in the classroom during the sessions, once their child has settled in. This provides parents with a greater understanding of the routines and the curriculum.
